Popular for good reason. Great screen resolution, full PalmOS PDA, pretty good reception (at least on the Sprint PCS network in major cities), usable web browser, bluetooth capability, DateBook, Contacts database, MP3/Audible player, and so on. Camera is somewhat usable if you have a still, close subject in bright light but otherwise you can forget about it. Note that the screen resolution is *better* than the Treo 700 models. This is the phone to get if you would like PalmOS. If you want Windows CE, you'll have to get a recommendation elsewhere.

Sweet convergence, I love the treo. My "Essential Treo Accessories" list describes how I've customized and expanded it to the point where I carry my phone, my calendar, a web browser, my email, a digital camera, an mp3 player, and a GPS system with maps of the entire West Coast of the US, all in my left pocket.

ok , lots of good reviews and it is good but as a phone , its desperate . Had to stop using it even though all the other features worked and it sync'd perfectly with my Mac but unusable as a phone , tried 3 of them

I tried several different Palm devices, but could never get used to carrying them around. Then I'd feel guilty and lock it to my hip for a week. However, having a Palm and cellphone in one has been awesome! The screen rez is beautiful!

This phone has changed the way I communicate (made text messaging easy) and remember things (setting alarms for myself). The 650 Palm OS model also has better screen resolution than the 700w. I've heard the 700 Palm may be coming soon, so you may want to keep your eye out for that as well.

This is the only smartphone I've used that can really be used in a one handed operation, which is important if you're using the phone while driving, walking etc. Apart from the phone capabilities, it is extremely well as a pda, with a high resolution screen not seen on many phones. I'm using it for business and personal and it's been serving me extremely well. This is one of the great devices you rarely find once in a while.

No one company has established clear leadership in the Smartphone space but if you try them all out this one is, by far, the easiest to use. It is resilient to the trials of everyday life and it has heaps of available software for strange niche activities - dieting, dictation, remote control functions etc.

The really cool thing about this phone is that you can get audio and video podcasts on the phone. Pretty sweet. This is perfect for real estate agents. they can have video tours of every home in the MLS. check out www.realestatebuzzbox.com they show how real estate agents can put podcasts on their Treo.

Quite simply the best, all around, non-Windows handheld phone you can buy. It functions as a web browser, email app, chat/messenger, MP3 player, audio book player, calendar, task list, etc, etc.

Works well as a PDA. The screen is bright and readable. Sometimes the phone locks up when trying to do too many functions at once but all and all it's a fairly good device for managing my schedule and remembering appointments, taking calls, photos and notes. The volume on the ear piece is not very high even when turned up as far as it can go and it is awkward to hold up to your head for any length time. I have solved this with a Nxzen Blue tooth ear bud which is amazing!

My first treo, but not my first palm product.... It took all the wonderful things I loved from my original palm pilot, and then the updated Palm Zire, and added a phone and more memory. It's a great tool for today's hectic lifestyle.

TN Solar I LOVE my palm treo 650, it's fabulous expecially with a 5 GB memory card. You have to be careful and not EVER get it even the slightest bit wet or it could get water damage and never work again. But while it works it's awesome and I wouldn't trade it for ANY other phone!
