I found an awfully nice package on my doorstep the other day, with the most innovative use of bubble wrap I've ever seen (it was shaped like a bottle). Inside I found a jar of Stirrings Lemon Drop cocktail mixer.

It's rather good - neither cloyingly sweet nor citrusy sour, but somewhere right in between. It went rather well with some gin, though the bottle recommends vodka. I like the simple ingredients and their use of cane sugar instead of corn syrup (it just tastes better).

I plan to try out the other flavors.

So I actually received a bottle of this about a year ago, but not being 21, I never tried it out (even though I certainly could have mixed it with non-alcoholic drinks). Last night being the big night, I put it out with the rest of the adult beverages and it proved to be extremely popular and incredibly delicious! It was used as a substitute for sour mix in an Amaretto Sour as well as a couple of other made-up-on-the-spot drinks... and I can't wait to buy another bottle!

So far I've only had my first "sample" sized virgin-cocktail, but I can't wait to have some sort of event to make a bunch of different drinks.

Lemon is my favorite fruit and this is like Lemon Heads in liquid form... I love it!!!

I can't wait to try some of the other flavors Stirrings has (and try out their hefty supply of recipes on their website).

Upon my first sip of this luscious mixer, I knew what I had to do: plan to gather the girls for a Lemon Zest Party.

The invitations will read: When life hands you lemons, season with Lemon Zest!

Guests will be asked to dress in LYD (little yellow dresses) and will be greeted at the door with Lemon Drop Martinis, prior to nibbling on appetizers made from edible containers of pattypan squash stuffed with couscous... (via Stirrings)

I'm always on the lookout for a new drink idea to add to my cocktail recipe collection for my guests. I recently had the pleasure of getting a bottle of Stirrings Lemon Drop cocktail mixer and I have become a huge (actually super huge) fan.

Some times mixers are loaded with ingredients that I can't even pronounce and they leave that aftertaste that is quite acidic and a bit off.

However, the Stirrings premium mixers have a fresh, clear and clean taste that makes your cocktails taste like you prepared them from scratch. The Lemon Drop has a cooling, natural taste that is wonderful.

After I fell in love with the Lemon Drop I moved on to the Mojito (it makes the best mojito's yet) and Chocolate Peppermintini (reminds me of Sex and the City) .

Since Stirrings has many different premium mixers you'll surely find several that you'll want to add to your home bar and drink collection.

On the Stirrings site you'll also find dozens of recipes, drink suggestions and tips.

Before your next party (or relaxing home weekend) be sure to stop and pick up several different mixers either online or through several retail merchants listed on the site. You can thank me later.
