A stockbroker can have an eye for great design as well as for financial trends, as Christopher Reiter proves. In 1999, he returned to the US after four years in Jakarta, Indonesia, and created a home-furnishings store that reflects the elegant subtleties of modern Asian interiors. Designs at Muléh (which means "to come home" in Javanese) are often reminiscent of contemporary European styles, but the Asian versions are warmer, notes Reiter, because they incorporate natural elements such as abaca, rattan and recycled teak. Muléh’s wares are sold in shops all over the country and online. (via Elements of Living)
