One day I was riding in the car with my mom, and listening to WHFS. She tried to keep up with the "cool" music and asked me who sang the song on the radio, and I told her "Stone Temple Pilots" and then she asked the name, and I was so embarrassed to say "Sex Type Thing". She didn't forget that, and every time the song came on she'd say "This is Sex Type Thing!"

It's a dark with dirty guitars and themes of death and sex rampant throughout, yet it's somehow catchy at the same time. "Dead & Bloated" is aggressive and hard, but "Creep" is almost pretty. "Plush" has crunching guitars and vocals that are reminiscent of grunge and "Sex Type Thing" is fast and attacking. It's a dynamic album that survives the 90's pretty intact I'd say.
