This book was the first to combine a gritty city landscape, rock & roll, and fantasy to make a new genre. It is full of atmosphere, creativity and excitement. Because of the blending of the real and unreal, it reminds me of Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden books. This is a must-read if you like urban fantasy, and still a good book if you don't.
