J. Crew has carried some version of these basic leather boots since they opened in 1983. They are the iconic Preppie riding boot. Except that they're not meant for riding; they're just meant to LOOK like they are.

Decent boots. I do feel they make my feet look a little large, as I generally prefer closer, form-fitting items, but the leather seems to be of a high quality, and they have been molding to my feet more and more over time. I have them in black, and they look fantastic with skirts. It's best not to wear them with trousers, especially under your trousers! Another caveat: the buckles make it unsafe to cross your legs whilst wearing these boots.
