Barbara Dunshee makes really funky lidded vessels. She describes her process here:
"Inspired by the circus and other things simultaneously precarious and poised. These begin life on the wheel. I alter them through pulling, propping up, bending, folding, carving. I'm looking for movement and balance. I pull the longest spires possible and work with what I have. There are small windows of time when the clay is right for the next move. In making these vessels I try to find as many of those as I can before the clay needs to be left alone, so it's these little races, then waits, then races. I think the action comes out in the final piece." (via Etsy)
