Wandered by this location in LA as they were putting up the logo on the window - a new barber shop opening. But not your average barbershop. Loving the look the place is building out and the web site suggests it is a reinvention of a place where guys used to hang out. About time!

What a clever and original idea for a barber shop logo. Going to have to check them out next time I am in LA.

Call it a pre-opening experience... but I received a shave and a haircut from Mohawk Matt (the owner and Master Chief Barber) as a test drive. I sat in his chair and, essentially, volunteered to receive whatever shave and cut he thought most appropriate. He asked of my circumstances and because I am in between jobs, he settled on his signature double-tapered mohawk (!!!) with matching angular facial hair. His straight-razor is as steady as his clippers. As I looked at myself in the mirror, I must admit, I was pretty damn impressed. I have been receiving compliments all week. It was a relaxing experience and one that I would definitely repeat. His location will be in the trendy part of downtown, and a perfect spot to hang and chill. Bolt will not be the barber shop of your grandpa. Guys, this is the hangout you have been waiting for, so grab your buddies and get ready for it. Five stars.

Bolt Barbers is awesome! I got a free cut from the owner, Mohawk Matt, at LA Arkwalk and the man gave me an absolutely awesome haircut. It has been four days and I'm still receiving compliments from co-workers and friends. I can't wait until this place opens in November because I will be a regular customer. Cheers!

Just walked by 5th & Spring Street in DTLA and this bolt barbershop place is, well its totally awesome. Saw something like 5 very cool barrel shaped barber chairs with those funky chimps crawling down the back and old school barbering kit everywhere. There's a funny 6 foot manequin guy too in the window that looks like my stylist in weho. Says opening is like Nov 12. I've never seen such a zany place. LOl
