AListApart.com is an online magazine for designers and web developers. Their slogan, "For People Who Make Websites". I enjoy reading the articles on design, code, web standards, meaning of web content, and best practices. I couldn't find this depth of knowledge from other websites online. My suggestion is selecting Topics and choosing an article you can relate with. Then explore another topic you know nothing about (i.e. quirks mode vs. standard mode).
