MRE stands for Meal: Ready to Eat and are produced by the US military. They have a 10 year shelf life and can be eaten right from the pouch! Probably not the most satisfying home-cooked meal but definitely a treasure to have in an emergency.

When the zombies attack you aren't going to have time for cooking meals. You have to get your nourishment quick and while you are fighting off the living dead. This is the best solution.
