As soon as summer starts, we invest in a bottle of Pastis. Add ice & water, & it turns cloudy. The link here calls it "french milk" but when I asked for it in a liquor store in Texas, they first looked at me like I was nuts, then said, "Oh, you mean Green Lightnin'!" (I think they were neglecting to add the water.)
Anyway, if you like the taste of anise, you'll like Pastis, and if you've been to Paris, it will take you back, much faster than a madeleine.
