Every makeup artist I can think of from Bobbi Brown to Dick Page, Pat McGrath and Gucci Westman, has pushed, prodded and emphatically pronounced the necessity of using a good set of tools. Fingers are fine and can be used for certain applications, but let's face it, unless you're Jackson Pollack and you look like Angelina Jolie, it's hard to create a masterpiece without the right tools. Plus your fingernails trap bacteria which you're transferring to your face and your products, every time you use your hands.
