I loved this version. It begins with an elderly Alice (who the story was based on) on her way to the U.S. to participate in a celebration of Lewis Carol and his books. The movie then segues into flashbacks of her childhood and the fantasy world. This version was a bit darker. The puppets (made by Jim Henson's Workshop) were kind of scary and nightmarish.
