Furnaces and air conditioners strip your home's air of much needed moisture. This is much more noticeable during the Winter months. In lieu of boiling endless pots of water on the stove, and on a doctor's advice, I purchased a humidifier. I went with a "greener" and more energy-efficient model. One that uses nano-silver technology to prevent bacteria and mold from growing inside of it, and uses no wasteful pads or filters. It's a very small tabletop model that emits a cool mist and is relatively quiet. After a couple of hours of operation, there was a noticeable difference in air quality. I highly recommend.
