The Cashmere Velvet Blazer by The J. Peterman Company in Midnight Blue is currently an absolute want on my shopping list. Clean, classic cut and subtle style makes this blazer perfect.

Personal wattage. Some people win it in the biological lottery. I like to think of it as a matter of attitude, and the right clothes can’t hurt.
This jacket, for example. Rich dark blue velvet, the same kind of lustrous fabric that used to be mandatory for gents’ evening wear at Buckingham Palace.
This particular velvet catches even more light in its folds than usual, without going to extremes. Its a blend of fine cotton with luxurious cashmere…something that I, for one, had never heard of before. Unexpected and excellent with well-worn jeans.

Cotton-Cashmere Velvet Jacket (No. 1768). Constructed with canvas interlining, shoulder pads, and sleeve heads. Four-button front.
Three welted pockets outside, four more inside including ticket pocket.
Claret satin lining with subtle paisley pattern.
Color: Deep Midnight Blue (more lumens per square yard than black velvet).
