Dust off your sewing machines! Designer Wendy Mullin not only makes cute clothing for you to buy but she wants you to be able to as well! If you've been into a fabric store or sewing shop lately you may have noticed that most of the patterns available are not very current or particularly cute.
Wendy has created a series of basic patterns (some of the finished garments are pictured here - I particularly love the jackets and trousers) that reflect some of today's trends. You don't have to be a fashion designer to do this - you pick the fabric, you alter the pattern to your own preferences, you tailor it to fit your shape, and you feel the satisfaction of wearing something that no one will guess you made yourself! If you're feeling totally lost by the idea, she has a book available and also a kit with everything you need (aside from the sewing machine) which would be a great gift for any crafty gal on your Christmas list!
