Try to read the books before you see the New Moon movie. Een better if you haven't seen the twighlight movie. Not that the movie was bad, not at all, but it's a real perk if you get to make your own Edward.

I was never a big fan of vampire movies, and was reluctant to even watch the movie.I am now quietly an obsessed fan and the books are beautifully detailed amazing and dreamy.
