This is just one of those movies that everyone HAS to see. There is no option. I also don't mind the soundtrack. (via amazon.com)

I'd like to introduce you to Cameron Crowe. Through an all-star cast and perfectly crafted soundtrack, he'll invite you to join his past world, touring the U.S. with the band Stillwater in the early '70s. Perfect for those of you who were once groupies, still are, or still dream.

Unquestionably my third favorite film of all time. Not only does it have the all time music scene of any film (Tiny Dancer sing-a-long), but also it's the film that got me to my degree in journalism.

"You cannot make friends with the rock stars. That's what's important. If you're a rock journalist - first, you will never get paid much. But you will get free records from the record company. And they'll buy you drinks, you'll meet girls, they'll try to fly you places for free, offer you drugs... I know. It sounds great. But they are not your friends. These are people who want you to write sanctimonious stories about the genius of the rock stars, and they will ruin rock and roll and strangle everything we love about it."

"I always tell the girls, never take it seriously, if ya never take it seriously, ya never get hurt, ya never get hurt, ya always have fun, and if you ever get lonely, just go to the record store and visit your friends."

I once went on a date with a fellow who took me to see this. When the credits rolled, he turned to me and said "I liked Jerry Maguire better." I suddenly developed a headache and went home.

I love the song Tiny Dancer in this movie.

This movie, along with all the others on the list, has the ability to get me every time I see it. One of my favorite aspects of the film, is the telling of the story from the young age viewpoint. It lends a unique (and true) slant to the story as well as a more relative view.
