As was wont to happen, this bag blew up all over NYC when Sarah Jessica Parker wore it on Sex and the City (think The Upside Down Horseshoe Necklace Phenomenon). Despite the fact that it's been a few years since that, I think the functionality of this bag makes it timeless -- not to mention the fact that it's Gucci. I wore this a lot with both jeans and skirts. Although I felt like a dork for a hot second (because it IS a glorified fanny pack), I was soon won over by how good it looked and the fact that it left my hands free. My favorite part (besides the long pocket on the inside ensuring protection from pickpockets) is the silver belt buckle. The pack comes in black, grey / black, and brown and is available with a plain belt or the traditional red and green Gucci colors. Seriously, you want one of these. Yes, it's a FANNY PACK, but it's Gucci, and it actually sits on your hip. It's a designer handbag that you sling across your very slender hips, so don't call me a fanny-pack-wearing tourist. In fact, if you consider it a belt, you don't have to count it as one of your restricted-to-two carry-on pieces for the plane.
