  Lack of understanding of the functioning of body and mind made Victorian scientists come up with some pretty bizarre ideas. They believed that all the faculties, as they called them, were located in particular areas of the brain. By measuring skulls, they could define the type and character of any person. Made of fine crackled porcelain. Funny little conversation piece for your home. Would probably make a good bookend.

  I freaking adore Phrenology heads. I still have yet to purchase one, but I remember squealing with delight at the random heads I came across in the antiques alley (Royal Ave) in New Orleans years ago. ('03)
