Small and light weight -- takes up no space -- but it has a flat surface and can tare (zero out) the weight of a large dinner plate -- it makes it very easy to measure both ingredients, as well as food portions.
The unit is super easy to keep clean, there are no little crevices for food to lurk that would be a pain to clean -- a quick wipe of a towel and you are done.
