Soy candles are much better than petroleum based wax candles for a number of reasons. First, they burn longer. Second, they are made from renewable and homegrown soy, rather than oil-based petroleum. Third, they are safe to be around, unlike petroleum based wax candles which produces harmful carcinogens and soot when burned. One air quality researcher stated that the soot from a paraffin candle contains many of the same toxins produced by burning diesel fuel! Eeks.
