I like tea as much as the next guy but you have to REALLY like tea to purchase this teapot...that or an uber-design fan. This version will run you $250 without tea. You can get a "cheaper" version for $50 less but if you're going to buy something like this, you might as well go whole hog.

I designed Sorapot because I wanted to create a perfect window onto the process of tea leaves unfurling as they steep. The mesh filter between the front of the tube and the spout keeps leaves out of your cup while allowing them to circulate throughout the entire tube. This gives them plenty of room to unfurl, enhancing your tea's flavor. Sorapot is made from investment-cast stainless steel (the same process used to make both fine jewelry and aircraft components). Originally a design project, this tea pot caught on to buyers and became a huge hit! I love the sleek design.

The most modern version of a teapot that I have come across. It's lines are clean. It's design functional and just plain cool. Nothing that I would ever put away, I'd leave it out even though my counter space is limited, just for its looks. Imagine putting a flowering tea inside and watching it unfold.

Sorapot is great because you don't have to deal with finding the right tea strainer or separately making use of it since its built in (its a mess always having to take it out and put it in and all that). You can also see how well the tea is steeping in the perfectly gorgeous pyrex pot.

Is this worth $200+? Many would say its ungodly beauty justifies the price. While I'd love to have this teapot, bodum makes some pretty damned good ones for 20-50% of the price...
