OK, OK, so I'm a sucker for great kid fantacies.... wellllll, here's an often overlooked one that just fits that Christmas kid in all of us. Animation? Ususally, I can leave that. But its amazing what can be done with some computers and graphic knowhow. I saw it in the IMAX/3D (yup, classes and all) version. The 4 year old I was with would oooh and ahhh and reach for different objects apparently floating by. In any event, I bit big time at the box office and now this is one of my favs. Take me up on it, your inner kid will be as happy as if you'd had a popcicle.

Adapted from Chris Van Allsburg's beloved picture book, The Polar Express was brilliantly animated, voiced by the likes of Tom Hanks, Chris Coppola, Michael Jeter, Leslie Zemeckis, and Eddie Deezen. I have to admit, I was not expecting much from this movie, but after seeing it in theaters I had tears in my eyes. To see a childhood book brought to life is something truly special. It's kind of sad that the adults in the movie cannot hear the sound of the little jingle bell, but it's also very beautiful and symbolic.

I love this movie so much. Its a great holiday movie for kids to watch and it is adorable. You should get the book to go with the movie!
