Here's a new (at least to me) online shop that specializes in old-tyme style toys for kids. They describe their "Tree House Kit' as follows: Tree Fort is a magical woodland wonderland where all of our miniature dolls and animals want to live. Each fort is completely unique, as they are made from the smaller salvage branches of hazelnut and alder wood trees. So there's a green component to this as well. The other thing that is more modern than old tyme is the prices. The 34-piece kit will run you $149 while the 59-piece kit will set you back a whopping $269. Talk about your green component...as in cash.

We bought this Tree fort kit for our boys (ages 18 months and 3). The first one contained damaged parts and had to be returned. The assembly instructions are very lacking. It won't go together as pictured. By the time you actually get it together, you don't care if it matches the picture or not. It takes about an hour to put it together - once you are good at. The boys can rip it apart easily in 15 minutes. If you are considering purchasing this toy, save your money.
