I saw them as the opening act for Alice Cooper not too long after "Appetite for Destruction" was released. Didn't know much about them, had only seen "Welcome to the Jungle" a few times on MTV. Ace Frehley & Faster Pussycat were supposed to be the opening acts, but they bailed. My buddy and I were pissed that we were getting stuck with some "fill in band". After the first song I looked at my buddy and said, "These guys are gonna be f'n huge!" We out the very next day and bought this & never left the house without it.

This album came out when I was nine, and I remember being really scared of it when my older brother bought the cassette. Now it's one of my favorite records of all time, although I'm pretty sure I could happily live the rest of my life without ever hearing "Sweet Child O' Mine" again.

Everyone loves Gun N Roses ... EVERYONE. So where is the shame? I will tell you where the shame is. The shame is me, in my car with some poor bastard that has no idea what they are in store for when I change the CD to play my "favorite song". What's my favorite (ridiculous) song "Welcome to the Jungle" duh. I play it and put my horrible vocal skills to the test. The best part about it is that no one is really going to jump out of a moving vehicle to get away from me, so they are trapped. Suckers. Me, on the other hand ... I HAVE jumped out of a moving vehicle. More on that in a later recommendation.
