Ridley Scott's Blade Runner is definitely one of my favorite movies of all-time. You just can't beat a good detective thriller set in a grungy futuristic Los Angeles where advertising has gone completely beserk, involving more human than human replicants on the loose. For all of the incredible visuals and unbelievable special effects there are to see (which still hold up to this day btw), this movie also delivers on so many interesting themes and underlying existential levels that really make you think. You can watch it over an over and amazingly always find a new layer to pull away.
Well, good news for all you fellow Blade Runner fans and soon to be fans, Ridley Scott and Warner Brothers have announced not only a new Final Cut of the film, but also a definitive Blade Runner : Five-Disc Ultimate Collector's Edition that will be released on DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-ray on December 18, 2007! Finally! I'm totally going for the limited edition briefcase version of the ultimate collector's edition on Blu-ray. (via The Green Head)

This has always been one of my favorite movies. And I've found that as I've gotten older, I notice more and more of the subtle lessons about life and humanity that are laced through out this cult classic.

Such a classic from the 80's...can't really say anymore than that...well I can. It was revolutionary and was a tremendous story. Harrison Ford was obviously amazing.

"More human than human"
When most people think Harrison Ford you think "Indiana Jones" esp. with the new movie out this week. Not I. When I think of him I think Rick Deckard - blade runner. This movie is so awesome in so many ways, and I have high hopes most of you have seen it. If not, get on it! For the fans I picked this up at barnes and noble during the holidays for my boy (not to mention the SA there let me know I was "so badass" for getting this haha) and noticed it has recently gone on sale. Enjoy!

I've been waiting for this for too long. Unfortunately I'd seen the original theatrical release so many times that when I finally got a chance to see the far superior "Director's Cut" I still had the crappy Deckard's voiceover narration running in my head--nightmare! This time I'm ready, many years have past since the "Director's Cut" I can now enjoy the new "Final Cut" without total recall of Deckard narrating each shot

I tend to think Bob Falfa when I see Harrison Ford, but I totally wish Deckard came to mind first. I'm not sure there's any better way to see him.
