bought this camera a few weeks ago. while i'm a long ways from an advanced user the technological features of this camera enable someone like me to get significantly better pics than my prior Canon Rebel XT. I did quite a bit of research and nearly everything I could find pointed toward this camera as THE camera to get. It's especially good at shooting in low light.

I've always been a Canon girl and the 5D is their best digital EOS. Very easy to use, lightweight, and with over 12MP you can blow your pictures up HUGE!

I think this is the best DSLR out there. I'm sure there is a Nikon fan or two out there who would disagree, but I've settled on this model, and it sure has pleased. For the number of features packed into a camera that is not too ridiculously large, and has a full frame sensor, you can not go wrong. The only thing I would like is for faster uploading to the computer - is USB 2.0 so much to ask for? However the camera takes beautiful photos, so that's a fairly minor complaint.

A camera is essential and a phone camera won't cut it and you could go for a smaller digital camera, but what if you want to have bigger files to possibly create a book. Then you want this big mama. You also want to add the battery grip on it so that it looks like a monster. People know you mean business.
