The 360 Core bundle is everything you need to get started playing games. It has the console, controller, a few simple games and that's about it.

While it does come with a 512Mb memory card, if you want to do any of the Xbox Live digital downloads, you'll need to spring for a hard drive separately.

If you check Amazon.com, you'll find they range from $250 to $270. (via Amazon)

The Arcade version of the Xbox 360 is the cheapest way to get started playing all the great Xbox games.

The Xbox 360 has tons of great games, and makes an excellent media center. I use mine for watching DVDs & video files just as much as I use it for games!
