Give a wink to the good old days with Mix Tape USB! Create a playlist for the thumb drive and then package it in this clever cassette tape holder! We carry this at Happy in Los Angeles and it is one of our most popular items. It makes the perfect gift. Check it out at www.happylosangeles.com! (via happy)

Muxtapes have their own aura, and now that the site is back up this seems maybe less useful than it would otherwise. Like is this a new form of digital fetishism or something? I mean, I still make mixtapes with actual magnetic tapes and enjoy it, it's not an inconvenience but it's also not like it means anything more than just making one with mp3s. I like the fakery of this thing, though, trompe-l'oeil packaging and all.

This is way out of the realm of things I usually recommend, but it was so darn cool I just couldn't pass it up. Remember trading mixed tapes back in high school? (OK, is there anyone here over 30??)

Well now you can fuel your nostalgia for mixed tapes while keeping up with 21st century technology. You get the look and feel of a cassette tape, complete with space for your play list, but you record on a USB stick that holds exactly 60 minutes of music -- just like those cassettes you used to love.

Brilliant!
