Amy Winehouse is no ordinary jezebel she has the voice of a soulstress...distressed, angry, bitter, jaded and brutally honest! One of my favorite blogs agrees she is truly gifted even if she has become sort of a tabloid victim. She can carry a tune like no other songstress of our time! I love this album! Give it to someone who's into Amy, jazz, the blues, or music in general...I haven't met one person who hasn't liked her music so far! (via Target)

excellent album... even if she is batshit crazy.

When I first heard this CD, I was a little angry that the songs were so short! As soon as I'd really get into a jam, it'd cut off! Even with that said, it's an awesome CD that I never get tired of hearing. My fav is Love is a Losing Game.

I don't know what's happened to my darling little (once curvaceous) Amy Winehouse, but her voice still does it for me.

On 1st hearing, I thought it was Motown redux. Now her melodies & lyrics are under my skin.

Yes, she's a big ol' barrell of crazy. Yes, she's a complete mess. But she is also super talented. I love her voice and this cd.

I must admit I'm not one to stay on top of the pop music scene, but one album I did invest in this year was Amy Winehouse's Back to Black. We've all seen this tabloid queen in action this year, but if you haven't given her Grammy-nominated album a listen, you're missing out. Her soulful voice transports you back to a time when music was about someone's voice and not computers. It's no surprise she's also nominated for Best New Artist.

This album also features the nominated Record of the Year Rehab - whether she's in or out of treatment, I hope she wins a Grammy this year.
