There are so many things to do with your emptied wine bottles, so here is another reason to keep that unique bottle around. I love the idea of the plant nannies to begin with. I was raised on a farm surrounded by green thumbs, but it somehow eluded me. This takes my worries away! now I can have a fun little reason to keep the bottle and a way to keep my plants alive.
I do recommend steaming the label off and reapplying upside down, that way you can enjoy it even more.

Not a bad idea. I've been using these for a few weeks. The container plants seem to be responding. Also discovered that long-neck beer bottles also fit well. Out of curiosity, as a test, I inserted a few bottles without plant nanny directly into similar plants. I do get the same effect, but a more rapid intake of water. Gone in a day vs 4-5 days with plant nanny. The thing to be careful about is to insert plant nanny by itself, never with a bottle. The necks crack away easily on plant nanny. I am pleased. Also found that white wine bottles and clear beer bottles make it easer to see remaining levels.

I love this idea, but I'm a little concerned my friends will think I have become a drunk with wine bottles sticking out of my planters. :-)
