Freitag was the original in my books ~ "freeway bags" made from recycled truck tarps, inner tubes, seat belts and more... there were the messenger bags and wallets - then came the MUCH larger line of bags, laptop sleeves, punching bags (NEED ONE!), travel bags, soccer balls, book, shirts, ipod case and oh so much more... huge fan of upcycling, some many viable materials are left to die when there is so much life left in them. all it takes is...god forbid...some effort! and out comes something unique, useful, and valuable that a crafts-person has put time and talent into. I can always use a messenger bag as well!

I love this bag. I have the dexter style. The stitching is great. I love the seatbelt strap. I commute in downtown LA and Pasadena using the trains and its held up well. During the times that it's rained i appreciate this bag even more. And I love the fact that its one of a kind.

My husband bought a Freitag bag at the gift store in the newly opened National Art Center, Tokyo. We saw it first at the 100% Design Fair in Tokyo early November and atually saw the 2 brothers who founded this company at their container exhibition. Very cool bag! Unique in material and great quality! Of course, love the concept of using recycled materials in our every day life! (via notcot)

Indestructible.

These bags aren't everyones style, but a great idea from a couple of brothers who saw a way to put oold seatbelts, innertubes, and truck tarpalines to good use. The bags are durable, and the website design is great. If the bag doesn't suit your tastes, llok for thier soccer balls.
