Makezine.com is the place to go if you've got some time on your hands. There are tons of ideas on how to reuse and recycle old belongings and even your garbage. My personal favorite was the podcast where they taught bloggers how to create a tyvex-like material and create a messenger bag. While some projects are much more complicated (ie: circuit boards) there are plenty of simple ways to truly make your home your own. It provides cramped, money-less college students with great ways to stay entertained and furnish new living spaces. You can also purchase the magazine, but that doesn't contain the sweet videos.

Make Magazine is the perfect gift for that hard to shop for geek in your family. Full of great articles and fun DIY (do it yourself) techy projects this magazine has been rated a geek favorite for years now. Now only are the projects fun, but the instructions are so detailed that even a beginner can follow along. Your Make Magazine subscription gives you four magazines per year with enough projects to keep you busy longer than that! I highly recommend this as a unique gift any technological person will enjoy!
