Naturally you want a nice business card, and a memorable one if you can swing it. How about frosted plastic or matte sheet metal to start with? I mean, paper is so 20th century.

Plasma Designs of the UK have been making these cards for a few years and are quite popular with a few businesses. You have many creative possibilities with these cards - you can add all sorts of color to the plastic, and make all sorts of chemically etched holes in the metal. They will help you with the graphic design, as they know these are a little unusual.

I think they look great for the right type of company - design, fashion, technology - actually, they just plain look cool!
