  I love IKEA! And how they consistently bring great design to the masses (who are within driving distance of their mega stores). What I also love about them is that sometimes they come up with something absolutely marvelous. This time, I'm talking about their series of vases designed by Hella Jongerius. Each has a different and more interesting motif, making it easy to find one to compliment your decor. The different styles actually represent different glazing techniques and materials. They are large and beautiful enough to stand on their own merits but can be part of a more elaborate composition if you wish. Though the price is a little bit high for IKEA, $39.99 is a steal for such a beautiful piece of art, especially one that doesn’t actually scream IKEA. The only thing I could hope for is a smaller version for those whose space cant accommodate a large statement piece like this.

  i must say that i did not fall for this on first sight. though is was supposedly an arty designer piece. but it's one of those slow burners. after passing it by in ikea a few times, i began to appreciate the patterns and started imaginig how great it would look on my side table, in a cluster of 3 of varying sizes.
