Eating for Life
First to recommend
Description
The follow up to "Body for Life", it didn't quite get as much publicity. In my opinion, this one of the dealing with establishing healthy eating habits. It's not loaded with a lot of scientific jargon, which is perfect for people like me who get bored easily. It's not one of those "all this and none of that" diets, which are typically very difficult to stick with. In "Eating for Life", Bill Phillips basically takes you by the hand and shows you how to develop smart eating habits that will last a lifetime. The book contains, among many other things, 150 healthy recipes, from breakfast through dessert. I have tried many of these recipes, and they are extremely delicious. Simply put, this book helps you to eat healthy without feeling deprived. I, for one, hate feeling deprived. It tends to make me less than pleasant.

Nutrition In The Fast Lane
First to recommend
Description
Obviously fast food isn't the best choice when it comes to nutrition. But there are times when it is your only option. And there are times when it's what you want. I admit it, I love Sonic Drive-In. If you're outside the Midwest, you may have never heard of this place. It's so good, but so unhealthy.
With this handy little guide you can make the wisest choices possible when you have to eat fast food.
It contains nearly 3000 menu items from 59 popular restaurants. And it comes in a convenient size that you can take with you when you are on the road.

Diet Power Calorie Counter, Diet, and Weight Loss Program
2 people recommended this item
Description
This is a great nutrition software program. I have had great success personally, and with my clients, using this software. Diet Power "learns" your metabolism, based on data that you input. Diet Power is an outstanding way of food journaling. You just input everything you eat & drink on a given day, and Diet Power does all the work. You will be able to see, not only your total caloric intake, but a complete breakdown of your protein, carbohydrate, and fat intake. The best thing is that Diet Power offers a free trial version. In my opinion, free always rocks.

Balance Bar Gold - Chocolate Mint Cookie
First to recommend
Description
Boring stuff first. 210 total calories, 7 grams of fat, 23 grams of carbs & 15 grams of protein. While you won't ever mistake it for a candy bar, this actually tastes really good. I've tried just about every protein bar out there, with varying degrees of success. In general, Balance Bars are pretty good. And this chocolate mint version is one of my favorites. Enjoy!

MIO Classic Heart Rate Watch
First to recommend
Description
I love heart rate monitors, but I can't stand dealing with the damn strap. With this watch I don't have to worry about that. Just put it on and place to fingers on the watch to see my heart rate. I've had mine for a while now, and very rarely do I ever have any problems getting a reading. This particular watch will also show what percentage of your age predicted maximum heart rate you are exercising at. You can input your weight, and the watch will calculate how many calories you burn during your workout. By entering the number of calories you take in the watch will show you your caloric balance for the day. I'm sure some of you wanna know if it's stylish. Well, it's a sports watch. So, if you've got a Ball or Red Carpet event to attend, you should probably go with something a little more "sparkly". But, it is better looking that a lot of the watches that come with the traditional heart rate monitor.

ShapeSkin Gym Towel
First to recommend
Description
I'm waivering between "germaphobic" and "really good idea" with this one. The ShapeSkin Gym Towel 73" by 32", 100% cotton towel. What makes this towel unique is the stretch band sewn into the entire outer border. This means the towel fits and stays securely on whatever piece of exercise equipment you are using.
So, if there is a problem with people not wiping off the equipment at your gym, this might be just what you're looking for.
Each towel comes with a handy carrying back to store your water
bottle, keys, etc.
