Royal Copenhagen Mushroom Dinner Plates

First to recommend

Description

For the one who has everything for fine dining, even the most Flora Danica, the most expensive china in the world, this may be one thing you don't have. The Mushroom Dinner Plates are a special series for the Flora Danica service, sold only in sets, and produced only for a limited time.

If you've got a spare $45K, you might want to invest in these gorgeous, hand painted plates.

Be sure to "take a closer look" to see other images I've uploaded that are not on the "buy" site. They're pretty incredible!

Banana Leaf Urn

First to recommend

Description

Banana leaf is an easily renewable, totally eco-friendly material, and I love the texture it brings into a room. This piece really caught my eye because of the unique shape. I think it would make a great centerpiece for a casual dining table. You could even drop a rose bowl in it and add flowers.

Thess interesting vases appear to be made of porcelain, although the description is not very complete. Pretty cool concept. Available in 3 sizes so you can create a landscape.

Poc a Poc Fougeres Collection | Handpainted China

First to recommend

Description

The Fougeres pattern expresses chic femininity with modern color and a nod to nature.

For this collection, real ferns gathered in the local forest are used as stencils for the decoration of the presentation plate. Hand-painted with relief, the bright green color is especially lively. For the other pieces in the collection, a decoupage technique is used in which, a chromo is hand cut and the fern decoration is placed to create a natural effect. This process means each piece is unique.

Steuben Spiney Caviar

First to recommend

Description

This delightfully whimsical set, made entirely by hand, takes the form of a sea urchin, and each exquisit example is unique. The fludity and beauty of the glass highlights the delicacy of glistening caviar beads. No hardware is needed since the glass "spines" serve as feet for the ice bowl and help to anchor the smaller caviar bowl in the ice. This versatile pair of bowls may also be used as charming serving pieces or decorative accents. Jeff Zimmerman, 2007.

Leaf Plates

First to recommend

Description

A lot of bang for the buck. A set of 8 wall plates for less than $40. Great shapes, and the white makes it modern.

Simple, classic leaf shapes from New York ceramicist Barbara Eigen are cleverly pre-wired for mounting on the wall.
