It's all right here in black and white . . . - a list by hanahula
Options for This Page
About this list:
Color is everywhere this season, but I am also seeing some interesting patterns in black and white. Not to mention, I am seeing a bumper crop of LBDs (little black dresses) that are just as jaw-droppingly gorgeous as anything in flowers or geometrics. As more of the fall's fashions are revealed, I hope to add even more finds to this list. Stay tuned to this noir channel . . .
Qualifications:
I wore nearly nothing but black and white for several years.

MaxStudio: ORIGAMI DRESS
First to recommend
Description
At first glance, this dress is simply a taffeta A-line. Look more closely: notice the intricate folds of fabric and grosgrain ribbon at the waist-line in front and the elegant pleats that extend all the way around the waist. Fully lined, this LBD can be worn all-year long: with tights in the cooler months, with a high-heeled sandal in the warmer months. It is an origami canvas, awaiting your next great event.

Description
What's black and white and cool all over ? Why L.A.M.B. (and the creative muse behind the product: Gwen Stefani) of course ! Weather-resistant, fully lined, logo-bedecked, and generously sized, this tote lacks only an owner.

Garnet Hill: Appliquéd Bathing Suit by Karla Colletto
First to recommend
Description
Although much more figure-flattering than some of the suits Esther Williams wore, this black one-piece reminds me of the gorgeously feminine details of her swimwear. The lily detail and the square neckline distinguish this suit from so many of the other black suits I have seen recently, making it one of my favorites this season.

Garnet Hill: Appliquéd Dress by Karla Colletto

Description
This little lycra lady does have a matching bathing suit, but she is oh so pretty that you just might decide to wear her solo now and then. The simple A-line design makes this an easy and fun dress to wear, however and whenever you choose.

Anthropologie: Monochrome Sun Hat
First to recommend
Description
This women's hat is a little easier to try, if you are having some doubts. A little less conspicuous in black and white, it won't call as much attention to you as a broader brimmed, more colorful version would. Yet, it still has loads more pizazz than your average baseball hat.

UrbanOutfitters: Bean Town Lover Tee
First to recommend
Description
Born in Boston, I will always consider it my hometown. Even though I never lived within the city limits, I have a visceral connection to the people, the sports teams and the history of the place. In fact, the "Boston Tea Party" is the event that inspired the name of tee shirt list.

Betsey goes nautical in her own inimitable style: shiny black patent and white, finished with a button detail. Dressy enough for the street, sandal enough for the beach.
