Rockstar Dogs

Description
**Note: Even if you don't visit the restaurant, check out their online menu for ideas to use at your own BBQ this summer!
If you're a Chicagoan like myself who gets a late night wiener craving from time to time, you might want to make a booty cuisine call to Rockstar Dogs. Wear your sassy heels cuz they have a stripper pole.
I am tempted to say so many naughty things in this review I almost have to sit on my hands. With menu items like the extra-long wiener titled "The Tommy Lee" you can imagine how hard it is for me to refrain.
(tossed in a pun right there in case ya missed it. No, not wiener. Keep going. That's right.... a little more.... ahhhh. There it is. "Hard.")
So instead of my smut, let me tell you what Jenny Berg of BizBash had to say about this place:
_________________
Dion Antic, owner of nightspots including Iggy's 3, opened Rockstar Dogs in March. Located in Ukrainian Village, the cheeky hot-dog stand (complete with an in-store stripper pole) offers a menu that pays tribute to musicians. New this summer, Rockstar Dogs offers catering for events and meetings for as many as 1,000 guests.
Selections include the Latin-style Los Lobos dog, which is wrapped with bacon and topped with sliced jalapeños; there's also the charbroiled, cheesy J. Timberlake dog and the onion- and Düsseldorf-mustard-smothered White Stripe brat. The hot dogs come with Miss Vicki's potato chips, and are delivered in an earth-friendly, electric pick-up truck. —Jenny Berg

French Bull Cabana Striped Containers (Set of 3)
First to recommend
Description
In college, I started picking up unusual or colorful storage containers like these- basically pimped out Tupperware- whenever I saw them on sale. The habit (some may say compulsion but we pay no attention to them) paid off- the clusters of whimsical, mismatched dishes add visual interest to my buffet tables and do double duty as attractive servingware & practical storage. Saves the dreaded transfer of leftovers later.
Set of 3 melamine containers each with a plastic lid.
Small container is 5.5"(h)x 2.5"(d), medium container is 5.75"(h)x2.75"(d)& large container is 7"(h)x 3"(d)
Made of 100% melamine that will not fade, discolor or chip.
Completely dishwasher safe, high heat resistant and shatterproof.
Use indoor/outdoor. Not for microwave use.

Rip, Ride, Rockit! Custom Music Video Roller Coaster Ride
First to recommend
Description
This is true high-tech, customizable, multi-sensory entertainment. Scheduled to open in spring 2009, Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit will stake its claim as the most technologically advanced roller coaster in the world. The Universal Creative team is combining audio and special effects engineering, sophisticated on- and off-board video and one-of-a-kind guest personalization to create a roller coaster experience unlike any other.
Pretty cool stuff- you pick the tune and it tapes you on the ride for your own music video. You'll even get to swoop over the heads of the CityWalk people.....
Different elements include the Doubletake (The non-inverting loop), Treble Clef (an ascending high G helix into a Hi Hat stall and vertical dive), Jump Cut (spiraling negative-G camelback), Crowd Surfer (overbanked curve crowd fly-by), Drop Tuning (sideways drop into chasm), Plot Twist (sideways loop) and Chorus (high speed ground maneuvers).

ORLANDO, FL (March 19, 2008) – Adrenaline pumping and music thumping, you find yourself heading straight toward the sky. Suddenly, you are doing 65 mph, 17 stories over Universal Studios. Gasping with excitement, you rock out to a song you picked before strapping in. And, it’s all on video. Once the adventure is over, you edit the video to send to your friends.
“This is the perfect intersection of the digital age and theme park entertainment,” said Mark Woodbury, President of Creative for Universal Parks & Resorts. “Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit blends roller coaster intensity and guest interaction in a way where no two experiences will be the same.”
Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit touts six near-miss moments and first-ever thrills including a record-breaking loop. Ride vehicles feature the brightest and most innovative color changing LEDs in the world. High-energy visual displays fill the queue line. With up to four ride vehicles on the tracks at any given time, and with concert lighting and special effects mixed in, Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit will be a true high-intensity, multi-sensory experience that is unmatched.
Guests can customize their ride experience by choosing what song will play while they’re on the roller coaster. LED boards in the queue lines will display song options from five genres (classic rock, rap, country, pop and disco). Once on-board, guests can choose their song or let the coaster’s digital sound system choose for them. When the ride is over, guests will be able to customize footage from their experience and compile it into a take-home music video.
Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit will be located near the Jimmy Neutron attraction traveling the southern perimeter of the Universal Studios theme park, over to the CityWalk lagoon and back.

Building Your Own Leprechaun Trap - How to Catch a Leprechaun
First to recommend
Description
With the weekend upon us and only a few weeks left until the start of school, I thought I'd post one of our family's favorite ways to recycle old shoe boxes and shipping boxes- building leprechaun traps. No, it doesn't have to be St. Paddy's! Kids have a blast with these year-round. Decorate a box, prop it up on a stick, sprinkle Lucky Charms around it and .... voila! Or check out the other pictures I added if you want to get all fancy schmancy......
This link takes you to About.com's Family Crafts area. It's well worth exploring for inexpensive, creative and fun forms of entertaining the kids as the weeks drift towards fall. Turn off the tv, hide the Playstation and make some really great memories!
