DwellStudio Wall Art Gio Giraffe in Aqua
First to recommend
Description
Have you had enough of all the new DwellStudio items? I don’t think so! DwellStudio has gone from covering your bed to covering your walls with their recently released wall art. If I let my creative juices go I’ll shower you with different ways these pieces could be arranged. How about a diptych of Gio Giraffe in Aqua and Petal, or a triptych of Jacks in all three colors, or a polyptych of Dots in Aqua and Lemon, or maybe a combination of all twelve pieces! (as seen here). I could go on, but I’ll spare you. (via design public)

Description
Bob and Nicole Springer of Spot on Square have succeeded in providing the next generation of designers (a.k.a. today’s wee ones) the perfect foundation to learn from. Their Hiya series and animal wall art are the essence of clean and simple without compromising quality, safety or the environment. It is more important now than ever for children to grow up in a serene environment, and Spot on Square is the perfect first step in creating that space. (via Design Public)

DwellStudio Baby Crib Bedding - Transportation
First to recommend
Description
DwellStudio Baby has just added a mass of new designs to their baby collection. I am not really sure where to begin with their impressive new pieces…from travel bags to diaper totes to zippered bags to interactive toys to bib and burp sets to blankets to bottle holders, to (of course) new crib bedding! I have already made a list of the few items I want to get for my soon to be new niece/nephew and I picked out a weekender bag or two for myself to convert into a photographer’s carryall. The prints are brilliant, the sets are amazing, and I want to play with their interactive toys. (via Design Public)

Amenity Nursery Woods Organic Crib Bedding

Description
Amenity has come out with a new nursery collection that really make me want to be a kid again. Actually, I suppose you don’t need to be a kid to appreciate the simplicity of the woodsy images and very natural color palette. Think Bambi but with a contemporary flare. The blankets, crib sets, pillows and prints are made of organic cotton printed with low impact dyes. The pillow inserts are even filled with spun, recycled plastic bottles, manufactured locally. You don’t get more modern/eco-friendly than that! (via Design Public)

Lucky Jade Owl Cotton Cashmere Blanket
First to recommend
Description
Leslie Pitts of Lucky Jade has furthered my appreciation for owl imagery with her Owl Cotton/Cashmere Blanket. I think my emotional connection towards owls stems from two main things from my youth: 1.) an old skool bedside owl lamp that I would use to read stories before drifting to sleep 2.) the inquisitive owl from Tootsie Pop commercials. I am sure it is not just me, but if you combine the wise, old, nostalgic owl with cotton and cashmere, you have one heck of an amazing baby blanket.
Don’t have quite the same connection to owls as I do? Perhaps your baby would enjoy Feathers, Twiggs, Trees, or maybe a hoodie instead. Cozy up to all Lucky Jade items on DP. (via Design Public)

Dwellbaby Animal Cushion - Robin Elephant
First to recommend
Description
Some animals are not well-shaped to become kids' toys. Something about, say, beetles and eagles just isn't right for conversion into children's items. The silhouettes are too complicated, or too regular, or too...something. Giraffes and elephants, though, and pigs, illustrate the kind of animal-outline whimsy that kids are often drawn to. Blow 'em up to 20 inches in the long direction and make cushions out of 'em with Dwell prints (in colorways of either pink, pear, and chocolate or chocolate, white, and pale blue), and suddenly you've got clean, comfortable, indoor-friendly versions of interesting outdoor animals. Your kids will want to hug them for years. (via Design Public)

Salvor Fauna Pico Pillows
First to recommend
Description
Salvor Fauna understands how important the little things are in this big wide world with the introduction of their Pico pillows. Yes, they have their large porcupine pillows, and yes they have medium or “mini” sized Jack Russell pillows, but have you ever seen a tiny green squirrel pillow? Or a tiny bright purple owl pillow? Oh, how I love little things. I remember a day in Kindergarten when we would make owl puppets out of paper lunch bags, and I would make not only a large version, but a teeny tiny finger puppet version just for novelty sake. I can envision the Pico pillows as having a similar effect. Get a big mamma bear and pair it with a Pico baby bear and you have got yourself a bear pillow family. (via Design Public)

Lucky Jade Tibetan Baby Booties

Description
The new Tibetan Baby Booties from Lucky Jade almost make we want to have a kid. Actually, I need to retract that statement because I am far from that stage in my life. Sorry, mom.
My draw towards the booties stems from either a.) Being a girl and having that endless attraction to shoes, or b.) The booties are so precious and delicate looking I can’t help but have a maternal reaction to them, or c.) Maybe they are a triple whammy…combine all of the above with the notion that each purchase helps families in Tibet and I am sold. (via Design Public)

Lotta Jansdotter Soft Toys

Description
I have to confess, all the new Lotta Jansdotter bags, baby items, table linens, and calendars got me in a bit of tizzy last night. We discussed her pieces in our office yesterday and after our discussion I couldn’t stop thinking about them. On my walk home I kept trying to rationalize why I need to get a Tang wool tote and a Redig linen messenger bag and a Chick wool zipper bag and a Redig Square Cross apron and a 2008 fabric calendar. Then I thought of my sister’s soon to be new baby who will need new clothes and toys, especially a Herringbone Owl. Then I thought of all the other people who I know would LOVE one of her items for the holidays. When I got home I went straight for the computer ready to make a big purchase, but then I told myself, “Ali, you need to calm down, take a deep breath, and sleep on it before you spend all your money.” Amazingly, that is what I did. Watch out though, today could be a heavy spending day! (via Design Public)
