Airplanes Mini Tape
First to recommend
Description
Fun tape can be used as part of the giftwrap. Buy plain color wrapping paper, and let the tape do the decorative work. This mini tape of airplanes is great for kids. Or men who are still boys.

li xi

Description
Lunar New Year is Frebruary 18. The Li Xi (commonly known as the red envelope) with money is the traditional gift for Chinese New Year. More commonly given to children (like the U.S. version of the Tooth Fairy), it is also acceptable to give to adults, and one dollar is used to represent appreciation, luck and prosperity. It is also the common gift for wedding (but more than one dollar). Sometimes it is also used for New Baby, but in place of money, the Li Xi is filled with gold. It is difficult to trace where this tradition came from, but I did hear a story about a Master in old China giving red envelopes to each of his students upon their graduation. This tradition is still practiced today by many Asian cultures East and West. (via Cool Hunting)

luck symbol wine wrap
First to recommend
Description
Bringing a bottle of wine as a gift pretty much says you didn't spend much time thinking about the gift and you pulled this out of the wine cabinet... Unless you dress it well. Then that wine becomes a 'gift', not just a wine bottle. They never have to know you also store a stash of dedorative wine sleeves in your closet. This one looks like you went out in search of the "perfect" congratulations wine cover for the occasion - the gold chinese symbol means "luck", which works great for birthdays, housewarming, new job, enagement, wedding... Pretty much everything except bereavement. (Sure it works for new baby. The new parents will appreciate wine much more than another onesie.)

Description
The cherry blossom signifies friendship... This symbolism was formed when Japan gave the Cherry Blossom trees to the United States as a gesture of friendship (The famous trees in Washington D.C.). What a better message to add to your presents this holiday? (via baroncards)

Personalized Note Cards

Description
Personalized cards... so elegant and traditional, but not if you take the design and shake it up a bit. Modern graphics applied to personalized stationery make these cards fun. Also great if you are always forgetting to jot down who the gift is from. With these there's no worrying about that little task. (via zabrina)
