This is a couple of years old, but new to me! I have been on a quest for some cool french pop and this fits the bill - it's mellow and kind of like a cross between Madeleine Peyroux and Bobby McFerrin at times. I love it!

I love, love, love this album. Phoenix may sound familiar if you loved the Lost in Translation soundtrack as much as I did. On this album I recommend listening to "If I Ever Feel Better". If you're having a bad day it seriously will make you feel better!

Zooey Deschanel is the actress that I would want to play me in a movie, and now she's also the one that I'd want to sing the soundtrack. Her voice is so pure, and her lyrics are great too. There's something a bit Beatles-esque about the overall vibe, but at times she sounds a teenie bit like Dolly with just the right about of twang.

I fell in love with Scarlett in Lost in Translation -- who didn't? That relatable, vulnerable, raspy and amazing Scarlett sounds exactly like you would imagine, though a little less sweet-sounding than her character's Brass in Pocket from the movie. Her voice is amazing, and for people who also love Tom Waits as much as I do, I think this will be a treat.
