About this list:

I love Bollywood (India's Hollywood) movies. I love them so much the other teachers tease me. My defense is they are beautiful and innocent. So many festivals, so much color, so much music....and SO much family.Yes, the story lines are often predictable..even clique. In that aspect, they remind me of Hollywood's early, early movies. I admire the culture. Maybe that's one reason I love them. I only list the ones I've seen. Look for subtitles...unless you speak Hindu

Description

Essential Bollywood. Critics call this one a chick flick. It is well-known to my Indian students. I like it but not as much as some of the others. The character Shahrukh plays is funny...and he plays it well. Two young Indians (living in London) meet by chance while both are traveling. Ah...just watch it. It's too complicated to explain..

For me, the main thing this one has going for it is that it's a Shahrukh Khan movie. Not bad....just not great.

What can I say? I watch them all and cry. It has one of the major often repeated themes. Two people fall in love...by chance...and can not be together because of one of their prearranged marriages is pending..so soon. The story within the story approach in this one makes it interesting.
