Flensted Mobiles Life and Thread Large Mobile

First to recommend

Description

There is something special about Flensted mobiles. I am not sure if my enthusiasm for them originates from the copious design options, or the bright colors, or the tranquility of the movement, or the delicate balancing act, or maybe the fact that they add movement to a room that typically can be very static. Whatever the cause, I think doctors should start prescribing Flensted mobiles to all patients. I bet there would be a dramatic increase in health and happiness nationwide if everyone had a mobile in their room. (via Design Public)

Salvor Fauna Pico Pillows

First to recommend

Description

Salvor Fauna understands how important the little things are in this big wide world with the introduction of their Pico pillows. Yes, they have their large porcupine pillows, and yes they have medium or “mini” sized Jack Russell pillows, but have you ever seen a tiny green squirrel pillow? Or a tiny bright purple owl pillow? Oh, how I love little things. I remember a day in Kindergarten when we would make owl puppets out of paper lunch bags, and I would make not only a large version, but a teeny tiny finger puppet version just for novelty sake. I can envision the Pico pillows as having a similar effect. Get a big mamma bear and pair it with a Pico baby bear and you have got yourself a bear pillow family. (via Design Public)

As if DwellStudio hadn’t done enough with their DwellStudio Baby collection, the new DwellStudio Junior sets are a delightful compilation for any growing youngster. The color schemes are stellar, the patterns are imaginative, and the possibilities in how you can use the pieces to make your child’s room their own are endless. (via Design Public)

Boodalee bedding for kids

First to recommend

Description

At first glance the new Boodalee bedding line by Jeanice Skvaril looks a bit like a busy patchwork quilt, but up close you will find yourself in a completely different sort of setting…far from the days of the patchwork quilt. Imagine going to sleep at night surrounded by a circus, the city, a castle, trees, space, the world! Not your typical Spongebob Squarepants bedding that’s for sure. What is particularly great about the design work is the simplicity of the images and the modern but not overly modern edge that they bring to a child’s room. (via Design Public)

Salvor Fauna Kids Long Sleeve T Shirt - Blue Lightning

First to recommend

Description

Every few days a number of us at DP question whether we can fit into a child’s size 8 in order to sport the highly desired Salvor Fauna Lightning kids t-shirts. I would actually place a bet that some day soon one of us will crack and try to squeeze into a shirt. Calling all bets! Calling all bets! (via Design Public)

Lucky Jade Owl Cotton Cashmere Blanket

First to recommend

Description

Leslie Pitts of Lucky Jade has furthered my appreciation for owl imagery with her Owl Cotton/Cashmere Blanket. I think my emotional connection towards owls stems from two main things from my youth: 1.) an old skool bedside owl lamp that I would use to read stories before drifting to sleep 2.) the inquisitive owl from Tootsie Pop commercials. I am sure it is not just me, but if you combine the wise, old, nostalgic owl with cotton and cashmere, you have one heck of an amazing baby blanket.

Don’t have quite the same connection to owls as I do? Perhaps your baby would enjoy Feathers, Twiggs, Trees, or maybe a hoodie instead. Cozy up to all Lucky Jade items on DP. (via Design Public)

DwellStudio Baby Crib Bedding - Transportation

First to recommend

Description

DwellStudio Baby has just added a mass of new designs to their baby collection. I am not really sure where to begin with their impressive new pieces…from travel bags to diaper totes to zippered bags to interactive toys to bib and burp sets to blankets to bottle holders, to (of course) new crib bedding! I have already made a list of the few items I want to get for my soon to be new niece/nephew and I picked out a weekender bag or two for myself to convert into a photographer’s carryall. The prints are brilliant, the sets are amazing, and I want to play with their interactive toys. (via Design Public)

Fatboy Original Marimekko Unikko Cobalt

First to recommend

Description

Imagine sitting, reclining or perching on an immensely large beanbag covered in a designer fabric that has been admired in the design world since the mid 60’s. The combination goes together about as nice as peanut butter and jelly. But, lo! What happens if you spill a bit of your PB&J on the Fatboy Marimekko-Unikko in Cobalt? No worries! The easy to clean nylon material has a special coating and can be rubbed with a damp cloth...it'll be good as new. Pure genius (with style). (via Design Public)

Lotta Jansdotter Soft Toys

First to recommend

3 people recommended this item

Description

I have to confess, all the new Lotta Jansdotter bags, baby items, table linens, and calendars got me in a bit of tizzy last night. We discussed her pieces in our office yesterday and after our discussion I couldn’t stop thinking about them. On my walk home I kept trying to rationalize why I need to get a Tang wool tote and a Redig linen messenger bag and a Chick wool zipper bag and a Redig Square Cross apron and a 2008 fabric calendar. Then I thought of my sister’s soon to be new baby who will need new clothes and toys, especially a Herringbone Owl. Then I thought of all the other people who I know would LOVE one of her items for the holidays. When I got home I went straight for the computer ready to make a big purchase, but then I told myself, “Ali, you need to calm down, take a deep breath, and sleep on it before you spend all your money.” Amazingly, that is what I did. Watch out though, today could be a heavy spending day! (via Design Public)
