Beatles: Limited Edition Stereo USB Digitally Remastered Catalogue
First to recommend
Description
Beatles for sale, I knew that Apple logo would come back in a big way. And here it is. The Beatles "Apple Corps logo" has been redesigned as the killer app (oh I really didn't mean to do that). It's a beautiful 3D object that magically contains the Beatles entire digitally remastered music catalogue. It's what Beatles fans have been wanting for years, but more.
The unique, apple-shaped USB drive is loaded with the re-mastered audio for The Beatles’ 14 stereo titles, as well as all of the re-mastered CDs’ visual elements, including 13 mini-documentary films about the studio albums, replicated original UK album art, rare photos and expanded liner notes. And it's fully compatible with PC and Mac.
P.S. It's a limited edition of only 30,000 ( ^_^ ) -nuff

Description
Before the internet got so good at finding music, I had to turn to the record stores of the day. Lucky for me just when I needed to listen to massive amounts of Funk there appeared Rhino's "In Yo' Face: History Of Funk". This Afro toting collection of essential hits informed me, inspired me and made me dance. If you're not sure where to start with Funk from the 70's try it out.
p.s. dancing will save the world.

Michael Jackson: The Remix Suite

Description
This one took me by surprise, why? Because the translation of the word "remix" in my mind is "avoid". So I set my expectations on "bottom" and pressed play,...
The first track didn't do much for me, but it also wasn't cluttered with a lot of ego-rapping all over it, so I went to the next track and was instantly happy with the direction that The Neptune's took with "Never Can Say Goodbye", but the throwaway talk added to the track ruined the song for me, so on to the next track, Dallas Austin's take on "I Wanna Be Where You Are", I loved it, the next track, Polow's "Dancing Machine" sold me! Polow takes one J5's signature hits and firmly shapes it with a contemporary sound (Wow speaking about contemporary remixes, Benny Blanco's remix of "Ain't No Sunshine" is so epic in it's feel that it could be expanded across a series of albums.), and then Salaam Remi's remix of ABC--yes! I began to realize that this was not just a good collection, it was crucial. For example Emile Haynie mix of "Maria" gave legs to a song that I would usually pass up in it's original version. and then I listened to the next and the next and now I'm here recommending it.
I understand this album was just the tip of the Michael Jackson Remix iceberg, I hope the other additions are as exciting as this one. Thank you Motown.

Description
The cover for "There Is An Ocean That Divides And With My Longing I Can Charge It With A Voltage Thats So Violent To Cross It Could Mean Death" by Scott Matthew features an fantastically quixotic image by Mario Lombardo. Both music and packaging are beautifully connected imbuing a personal voice that will out last the style of the times in which the album was produced in.

B Is for Bob: Bob Marley

Description
It's true, you're never too old to fall in love with the music of Bob Marley, "B Is for Bob" turns this on it's head. "B is for Bob" is a collection of original Bob Marley songs re-imagined for kids, you see with, uh, children in mind, Ziggy Marley has transformed 8 of his father's songs into a kind of Bob lite, or Reggae with training wheels while leaving 4 of Bob Marley's other masterpieces included on the collection untouched.--I wonder what are the side effects are--eh?.

Babylon: Dr John

Description
This is one of those Dr Jon albums that feel like the soundtrack to some amazing off broadway show from the days of Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar. Lucky for us any show tune schmaltz trying to enter the doesn't have a chance against gripping vocals and is quickly overpowered by Dr John's tripped out lyrics which are turned up to 11 on the randomizer. The result is easily one of Dr John's most hallucinatory albums, as it mixes funk, jazz, pop, Rocky Horror backing vocal styling and even a group of children singing the U.S. National Anthem.
Love the cover too.
