Wood Laser-Cut Coasters By Sarah Finn

2 people recommended this item

Description

Well, wood has definitely come back in a huge way (WHO CALLED IT, SUCKERS??).

This is one of the many examples of ways to use wood with a contemporary twist - in this case, laser cutting gorgeous, intricate designs, making an event out of the most banal household object - the humble coaster. (via laurasweet)

Sprungli Chocolate Almonds

First to recommend

Description

Every girl loves chocolate, no matter how cliched that may seem. If you give her chocolate, don't appologize for giving a boring gift, because that will just make her feel boring for loving it so much. As a half-Swiss girl, I'm a snob about chocolate; dark and bittersweet are pretty much the only acceptable kinds, and while we're at it - why don't we make it Swiss, too. Sprungli is basically the best chocolate in the world. ($22 + shipping)

Cocaine

Description

This is branding genius. How has no one thought of this before? From now on, all products should have bad-ass names that are way more interesting than the products themselves. I want to see a cosmetics line called "animal tested" and a tampon called "blood sucker".

For the insomniac Valentine with an addictive personality. (2 can sampler, $4.99)

Alessi Bunny + Carrot Papertowel Dispenser

Description

Awww! It's a wittle bunny and a big ol' carrot! While this is adorable, I would definitely think twice about anyone who actually owned it. It's like people with bird feeders or lots of cats...something's just not right. $46 at Yoox.

Kyocera ceramic knife

2 people recommended this item

Description

As Tony Bourdain says, a sharp knife is a must. A ceramic knife doesn't get dull, and never requires sharpening - plus, it doesn't stain or rust. Thus, a ceramic knife is a must. Get me one! I will make you a steak tartare, so you can watch me use my new knife tableside.

Description

I got this as a gift, and it was one of the best boxes I've ever opened. This little sucker helps you with just about any baking project, cleans up easy, looks smart, and is my adorable little pal. Mine is Ice, like the one pictured, and it was ordered from Amazon ($299).
