About this list:

So, so many shoes from which to choose. Yet, at the end of a hard, pavement-pounding week, nothing feels better than slipping into a great pair of sneaks. And, as 2008 is the 100th anniversary of Converse, I thought I would make a list of some outstanding sneakers as a sort of homage. Here's to you, Converse.

Qualifications:

I worshipped the Nike Pegasus throughout middle school.

Women's Molded Rubber Clog by Puma

First to recommend

Description

Is it a clog? Is it a sneaker? Or is it a water shoe? A bit of all three really, this clog has been designed to look like a sneaker, slip on like a clog, and keep your feet from slipping on wet surfaces like a water shoe. If you are a beach bum, these are the sneakers for you.

Simple Shoes: Men's ecoSNEAKS

First to recommend

Description

Designer Joe Curren prints his images of Santa Barbara, CA on recycled plastic bottles to create the mural appearing on this edition of the ecoSneak. The green fun doesn't stop there, however. The lining is made from organic cotton and the sneaker itself includes recycled car tires as one of its key ingredients. Looking good, feeling good, being green.

With the grace of a ballerina, the stripes of an athlete and the comfort of a sneaker, this is a fabulous weekend shoe. But you may find yourself wearing these every chance you get.

SOHO LAB: Women's Rhino Red: Phranz - Phlutter

Description

Float like a butterfly in these sneakers, which are also great for skateboarding (if you are so inclined.) The bright orange against white is fresh and bright, just as I hope this spring season will be.
