About this list:
The ever evolving list that one might call the soundtrack to my life. Me, I just call it a bunch of albums I really like.
Life of the World to Come (Dig): Mountain Goats
First to recommend
Description
I think anytime we get new material from The Mountain Goats (and we get it a lot), it's cause for excitement. Their newest, however, is particularly doing me right. It's this raw, genuine folk rock, but that is all inspired and named after verses in the bible.

Greetings from Michigan: The Great Lake State: Sufjan Stevens

Description
Like most of Sufjan's stuff, this album is often overlooked -- or overshadowed from Illinois, an undeniable best album of the decade. Michigan though has it's high points and is certainly worth owning too.

Live at Reading [CD/DVD]: Nirvana
First to recommend
Description
As if any show Nirvana ever did weren't instantly iconic, the teo that stick out the most are, of course, MTV Unplugged and The Reading Festival. We've seen the previous, but finally they're releasing the 1992 festival show. I've been watching video of it on YouTube and... wow!

Saying that this record changed my perspective on music appreciation is an understatement. It blew it away, and showed me what really, really beautiful music is. Listen to it on vinyl and it'll change your whole perspective on life.

SMiLE: Brian Wilson

Description
The man needs no introduction and certainly doesn't need my endorsement. However, this 2004 record shows that he's still got. It's still classic, surf pop here.

This, the one and only studio album from Postal Service proves to be more than enough. It may not be on par with my current taste in music, but it's innovative sounds have proven timeless in my life.

The Moon & Antarctica: Modest Mouse
First to recommend
Description
For me, Modest Mouse have never been a name synonymous with awesomeness. They were actually always just the Float On guys or Good News for People Who Love Bad News, but before that, we got this one. It's a truly iconic rock album
