Majestic Fuji Apples in Gift Box

First to recommend

Description

Juicy and flavorful, our Majestic Fuji apples are acclaimed for their consistent crispness and superb sweetness. A secret to our Fujis is due in large part to our location, in which the cold nights and warm fall days help to create a “sugar core” in the middle of the apple. This sugar core enhances the eating experience and helps make our Fujis such a crowd pleaser! Selected for large size and eating quality, each Fuji is hand packed neatly for beautiful presentation upon opening! 12 piece gift set elegantly packaged.

Organic Cinnamon Sticks

First to recommend

Description

mmmmm paired with a hot mug of apple cider!!! Yummy!

Cinnamon is the world's most popular baking spice. You'll recognize its familiar taste and aroma in cakes, breads, cookies, breads and pies, dumplings, puddings, pastries and ice cream. It is common in savory dishes, too--soups, chutneys, catsup, pickles, squash, vinegars and meat glazes--and hot drinks like cider, coffee, tea and cocoa. Cinnamon complements fruits like apricots, cherries, apples, blueberries and oranges. Vegetables, too--especially carrots, spinach and onions--are enhanced by cinnamon's pungent sweetness. In combination with other spices (like cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, allspice, and black pepper), cinnamon shows up in a wide array of spice blends. The blends include pumpkin pie spice, apple pie spice, cider blends, five spice powder, curries, pickling spice, and even popcorn seasoning!

Cinnamon is valued today for its carminative, antiseptic and astringent quality, and its medicinal significance is still being explored. Dr. Richard Anderson, Ph.D., lead scientist at the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center in Beltsville, Maryland, for example, found that compounds in cinnamon improve the body's ability to use insulin to improve blood glucose levels. These findings are promising, especially for diabetics.

Porter Cheese Assortment

First to recommend

Description

Beer and cheese? The very idea is enough to make many a wine aficionado spill their prized Bordeaux. Yet, historically, the pairing has been a common one, particularly in Northern Europe. This enticing tradition is being resurrected here in the U.S., at microbreweries and dairies across the country. Some of the classic combinations are simply divine, whilst contemporary pairing of new world beers and cheeses is yielding exciting results.

Our Porter assortment contains our four favorite cheeses to enjoy with a creamy glass of Porter. Great Porters will possess hints of caramel, chocolate and coffee, and these pair delightfully with this selection -
Le Maréchal by Emmi is a raw cow's milk cheese produced in small batches in the town of Corcelles-aux-Payernes. Aged for 5 months, this terrific cheese retains its creaminess, lending itself well to the Porter.
Chimay Grand Cru is creamy in the mouth, with a sweet, yet robust finish, made by the trappist monks of Scourmont in Belgium. Famous for their beer, it was no surprise that it was a hit with Porter at recent tastings.
Cashel Blue is made by Ireland's Beechmount Farm by Louis and Jane Grubb. They make this superb blue cheese, nestled in the rolling hills of Tipperary. This fantastic new world blue consistently out-performed traditional Stilton in our Porter pairings.
Danish Tilsit is a surface ripened cheese with a piquant flavor, making it a great table cheese to enjoy with a great Porter.
Water Crackers: Perfect for serving with cheeses, fruit, and spreads when entertaining. (4 oz.)
